Zander founded Kowasa Clothing Company from the ground up, starting by designing and screen printing the first shirts himself before growing the idea into a full-scale apparel brand, mobile retail experience, and two-year experiential tour across the United States.

He led 100% of the apparel design and creative direction, expanding the collection from graphic tees into custom cut-and-sew apparel, while overseeing materials, production, photography, campaigns, and the overall visual identity. As the company grew, Zander transitioned production from hands-on screen printing into scalable manufacturing while maintaining creative control from concept through finished product.

Instead of waiting for customers to find the brand, he built the store and took it to them. Zander designed and physically built out a tour bus by hand, transforming it into a traveling Kowasa retail store that became the centerpiece of a two-year experiential tour across 25+ states and 200+ pop-ups, including surf events, music festivals, and other cultural activations.

He also directed lifestyle photography, developed social content, and built the brand's influencer and athlete partnerships, including bringing professional skimboarder Austin Keen into the Kowasa community. What began with a handful of shirts became a nationally traveling lifestyle brand with five retail locations and a physical experience designed to put the product directly into the culture surrounding it.

Built by hand. Apparel designed from scratch. 25+ states. 200+ pop-ups. 5 stores. One bus that took the brand across America.
