Zander’s involvement with Scryer Rum began in 2017, when he flew to Puerto Rico to help bring the brand’s original bar in Old San Juan to life. His role extended far beyond traditional creative direction. He hand painted the murals, helped build out the space, designed and fabricated custom displays and furniture, and created signage by hand throughout the bar. It was an opportunity to translate the identity of Scryer into a complete physical experience, bringing together art, design, fabrication, hospitality, and storytelling.

Years later, Zander returned to Scryer to help lead its next chapter, redesigning the bottles and preparing the brand for its first expansion into the United States market. His involvement has since grown to include the creative direction and interior design of Scryer’s next United States location, shaping everything from architecture, materials, lighting, and furniture to signage, custom fabrication, and the overall guest experience. Nearly a decade after first painting the walls in Old San Juan, Zander is helping transform Scryer from a beloved Puerto Rican rum brand into a cohesive product, hospitality, and lifestyle experience designed for its next stage of growth.
